🌟 Community Rail Awards Success for FSRA - 19/03/2026
Over 600 railway workers and volunteers gathered in Derby for the Community Rail Awards, celebrating outstanding projects and partnerships across the country.
We were delighted that the Farnborough Street Residents Association was shortlisted for Best Community Engagement Project, achieving an impressive 3rd place among a field of exceptional entries.
The highlight of the night came with the final award: the Community Rail Network’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Community Rail. We are incredibly proud to share that FSRA won this prestigious award, recognising the dedication, creativity, and community spirit shown throughout the year.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported, volunteered, or attended our events over the past year. This achievement belongs to all of us.

Members confirmed roles for stalls, music, refreshments and guided walks, and shared updates on the Rushmoor Green Fringe Festival, Community Rail Awards, and upcoming volunteer activity in the garden. Improvements such as new compost bin lids and a planned skip‑assisted tidy‑up were also noted.
The committee reviewed preparations for the Quiz Night, Warm Café sessions in May, and Steve’s Garden Party on 20 May. Additional updates included a house refurbishment quote, development of a children’s I Spy activity book, and discussions with the council regarding a large council tax bill.
